Surprise!

Kata drank today!! it was amazing. she’s drunk nothing for weeks. We had to dip sugar cane in milk and feed her drop by drop. A couple more days and she would be dead. Then she woke up this morning and drank a whole bottle full of milk!! It was like she suddenly decided she would live and now here she is, eating, drinking and putting weight back on her skinny little bones. I was so happy I almost started crying.
Now Lomela has her amoeba and is sick, but Mama Henriette says Lomela can afford to lose a little weight because she eats and drinks all day long.

Hi, I forgot to ask this over at you blog … is Lomela taking the same meds for amoebas that Kata took, and does she also need the IV drip? Does she eat at all while she has the amoebas?

What a relief!!!! The photos are beautiful and the one with milk pouring down Kata’s belly is my new screen saver.
I hope Lomela recovers quickly and that it doesn’t spread to anyone else. Big hugs to both babies. If anyone from LYB is reading, can someone please tell me if you are registered with the IRS and what is the official name they recognize???

What wonderful news that Kata is feeling better. Great pictures. It is wonderful to see her really enjoying that milk. YEAH!!! Yes, where are all the other wonderful pictures. : ( I am out of town at a family wedding and I wanted to show all my neices the beautiful pictures and tell them the story about these darling little girls. Hi girls,
yes, the amoebas are extremely contagious, and since kata and lomela are always together, it’s not surprising lomela picked them up.
and yes, even though she must feel really sick - nothing can keep lomela away from her food!

Hi Everyone, I just heard from Syed. LYB will be in the running either November 1st or mid-November. He says the list of charities is short so he’s fairly certain it will be November. We will not know what part of the month until they are actually listed on SearchKindly. I will check SK on November 1st and let everyone know.
We might also want to nominate another charity for December?!
