Eleke much better

For those that remember little Eleke, I’ve just had a report that he’s doing well. Eleke was the bonobo rescued from someone using him for witchcraft, he was in terrible pain from having his teeth forcibly pulled out, and he also had lacerations around his groin from where he was tied with a leash.
His wounds are healed now, and he can eat and drink fine. He especially likes bananas and pineapple, and the mamas make sure he gets a lot of them. His mamas Yvonne and Micheline say he’s a very calm, sweet bonobo who never provokes the others. He’s always asking gently to be taken by the hand.
His new BFF (Best Friend Forever) is Lomela. She’s got the same temperament as him, in fact they’re from the same region of the Equateur. The mamas joke that they must be related.
Kata is throwing a few more tantrums than usual, having her BFF stolen by Eleke, but Eleke refuses to get drawn into the fight and usually claps Lolo around the waist, hiding from the storm.

Were all of Eleke’s teeth pulled out? How horrible for someone to do that to any living creature! I’m glad he is able to eat and has a new BFF in our sweet Lomela! Kata, you better start behaving, young lady! One tantrum a week, tops. As usual, you guys have that special touch, rehabilitating these little “wonders”, thank you!

Aw, thanks for the news about Eleke, Vanessa. I’ve been wondering about him and hoped he was getting along well. How sweet that he and Lolo are friends. Sweet little boy looks so much better. I hope that those responsible come to justice…but it rarely seems to work that way. Was anyone held accountable?

I’m so glad Elke is doing better, he’s a cute little guy. How is Kata behaving ? An earlier post from January mentioned that because of her personality she was having a hard time finding friends and I was very happy when you later posted that Lomela and Kata were friends but now she has lost her BFF. Is Kata making any new friends ? Hope she can find a new friend and cuts down on those tantrums

Why do you waste medical resources on animals when people are dying? I agree with afew blogs I have seen that say too much is being wasted on apes, and why give apes the same status as humans? Treat them as animals, that is all they are. Save them by all means but dont wastes human medicine and no human rights to animals!

I am a nurse and I’ll tell you one thing. I’ve met more sorry excuses for human beings than I have animals - many of these “humans” are little more than rotting filth. I will gladly use medical resources for the well-being of animals. By the way, don’t worry, someone out there will be there to save your sorry a….s, because that is what humans do who care about the lives of living creatures. Don’t waste our time here Frank. Great job everyone else!!!!
