More photos from Colleen Moritz – does Masisi, the scared little boy from May 19 look better or what??
He actually is scarily similar to Boyoma, who frequently runs around terrorizing everyone.
It’s wonderful to see the broken little spirits that arrive return with such spunk and vigor. Bonobos are amazing, not just in their trust in humans when we haven’t done much to deserve it, but their will to survive.
Go Masisi, go!

He has beautiful eyes. He does look much better than on his arrival. Vanessa, do you know what happened with the third bonobo that Claudine was trying to rescue?
Thanks for posting these pics. He’s a charmer.

What a little sweetheart Masisi is! I’m so glad he is doing good. He looks so tiny, but he’s got spark in his eyes. I bet it won’t be long before he’s doing some good terrorizing himself. Thanks for the update Vanessa. Lisa
It’s heartwarming to see like these little bonobos arrive at Lola Ya and how magnificent is their transformation for freedom and peaceful spirits. Thank you for such great work.
ADORABLE!!!!!
My goodness, he is gorgeous…quite an example to all of us, I think. You could just drown in the depths of his eyes…what a sweet boy…and ditto on Sheryl’s question about the third baby. Alos, any news about kata and Lomela?
I’m sure Clemence the lovely goddess/nurse deserves much credit. Amazing how much TRUST can heal. He is gorgeous, and like you said, Christine, such depth in his eyes, I could swim in them all day. He seems to be putting on some weight too. Little bit of tummy happening. Thanks Vanessa!
hi girls, no news yet on the third bonobo. things move slowly in congo sometimes…
What a magnificent little boy. I hope he fully recovers from all of the emotional trauma he has known in his life but from what I’ve seen on this website, I know he is not completely out of the woods yet. Thank you so much for the love you have all shown him.
what a lovely little boy! Good look for you all.
