It’s Lomela! Look at all her beautiful hair! This photo is courtesy of Colleen Moritz who does quite the most beautiful portraits of the infants I’ve seen. I don’t know how she takes them – everytime I try one of them is leaping on my camera.

This is what she looked like last year:

It’s so wonderful to see the change.But you can see she has the same gentle eyes.

Lolo is an incredibly sweet bonobo, everyone loves her in the nursery. She is always quick with a hug for anyone who is upset, and yes, she still does eat like she hasn’t seen food for a month.

We love you Lolo!!

    I love you, Lolo! She looks wonderful, and you’re right about her eyes. That’s about the only way we can recognize her. She looks wonderful. Thanks for the photo.

    Yes, we love our Lolo! She looks so good. I’m so happy, she looks so happy and wonderful. It’s says something about the spirit and soul of a bonobo that can be treated so awful and go through such horrible things at the hands of a human and still have the sweetness and trust to actually want to hug and console someone that is upset. She is my hero. She was the first time I saw those eys and she still is now. Thanks Vanessa for letting us see her beautiful little face again. Lisa

    Happy Birthday Vanessa!!!!

    I cannot believe the changes in Lomela and have missed hearing about her. She is so lovely……thanks to everyone at Lola…without you, we would not have a Lomela to love and worry about at all.
